Transportation

We provide public transportation to rural residents of all ages (anyone can ride), giving first priority to the elderly, the handicapped, and the economically disadvantaged residents with medical needs. Over 1.5 million trips were provided last year to over 54,000 residents who used our state-wide deviated, fixed route, and demand-response services. Rural Public Transit

This service provides public transportation to rural residents of all ages, giving first priority to elderly, handicapped and economically disadvantaged with medical needs while providing deviated, fixed route and demand-response service.  It is funded by the Federal Transit Administration, TN Dept. of Transportation, TN Commission on Aging, fares, local revenues, and in-kind contributions.

Van Pool

The Rural Commuter Van Pool Program provides 8-and 15- passenger vans for commuters for work and job-related training in addition to being available for rent to the general public when vans are available.  Anyone with a valid driver license and proof of insurance is eligible to lease short-term or long-term.

New Freedoms Transportation/Mobility Training

A barrier for many people is transportation and the ease in getting from one place to the other.  The Travel Training program was put in place to assist those who are disabled and unsure of riding with the public transit system.  Let Travel Training make you independent and give you more freedom to go anywhere you want to go.

TennCare Transportation

TennCare Transportation is approved by the TennCare Bureau. TennCare pays for trips to the doctor, drug store, and other medical services.  All transportation stops must be approved and documented on the manifest sent by TennCare.  If a TennCare Passenger needs transportation to other destinations not approved by the TennCare Transportation Agency, the passenger must pay the trip fare.

Job Access Reverse Commute

Provides clients transportation to destination such as job sites, training facilities.  The program also allows for transporting client’s children to and from day care facilities.

Intercity Bus Service

5311(f) provides fixed route transit service three (3) times a day from Cookeville into Nashville.  Fixed stops along I-40 connecting rural counties with the Nashville Metropolitan area.

Drivers' Education

Drivers' Education classes are available with state certified driver instructors teaching, ages 15 through adulthood, the skills needed to become a safe and responsible driver.

Title III Transportation provides public transportation for individuals age 60 and over and referred by the Upper Cumberland Area on Aging.
